Icemaker quit, water dispenser quit, now freezer

Bought 4 years ago. Icemaker quit last month, now water dispenser, now freezer defrosted. Wiring harness in bottom of freezer door chafed wired broken. Cannot buy wiring harness, Whirlpool says replace the door $800 and if may be back ordered. If I have the repairman come look he will charge $80 to tell me the same thing. Might be able to fix the freezer but ice maker and water maker no chance. Buying a new fridge and it won't be a Whirlpool

I bought a whirlpool WRS526SIAH00 a mere 6 years ago and have had numerous issues with it. The temperature of the refusing all over the map. I am now waiting to have a repair man come out yet again. I'm so over having to put my food in coolers to tinker with this darn thing. It looks nice but was the worst appliance I have ever purchased! Seriously considering scrapping this thing and buying a different refrigerator even though it's not in my budget right now.

I've had this unit just over two years and most features work well. The ice maker and some of the engineering is a joke though. The wire harness at the base of the freezer door has broken in half several times from normal door usage, causing the ice maker and dispenser to stop working. Just out of warranty too. Whirlpool does not stand behind their product and offered no effort to fix their design flaws. Whirlpool has lost me as a customer.

Refrigerator is only a few years old and temperature swings all over the place. Freezes liquids in the refrigerator then later its too warm. Things in the freezer get freezer burn from going warm then frozen. It only does this every few days so when the repair man came it was not in the failed state so he could not fix it and charged $90 dollars. Doors do not align properly. Ice bin turns into a large clump of solid ice. Rattles randomly. What a piece of junk! Whirlpool used to have good products, what happened? I am looking at having to purchase an entire new refrigerator and I am sooo not happy. Never again whirlpool!

My model WRS576FIDM, purchased in December 2016, and the ice maker was stopped working in November 2018. This is my second Whirlpool refrigerator, first one run for exactly 5 years. I thought this will go little further. Called a repair person and he looked at it, the wiring at the bottom of the door to the ice maker was worn out, and he re plastered it. He could not find any other reason, and quit. He says ice maker is good, but fail to make ice. I change water filter every 6 months. But very disappointed with the quality of the ice maker.

Wiring Issues in Freezer Door

We bought this 2 years ago and everything has worked fine up until a couple months ago. The wiring harness for the ice maker and dispenser runs along the point that the door for the freezer rotates and it has chaffed all the way through. The harness can not be repaired since there is no slack at all. We are now without an ice maker. The harness can not be replaced either, and the fix is to replace the door. Called Whirlpool Customer service, but since it is out of warranty they can not do anything about it. A new door runs over $800. Looks like we will be off to buy a new refrigerator, and probably not a Whirlpool.

I bought this refrigerator about a month ago, only because the 24 year old GE Profile series that I had could not be repaired due to coolant incompatibility. I researched refrigerator brands for about 3 weeks and after reading reviews and talking to my repair man decided to go with Whirlpool. I hope I can get at least half the good working years from this one as I got with my old one. Most comments and reviews complained about short working life and long waits for parts. Hopefully Whirlpool will not fall into this problem area.

This refrigerator is exactly two years old and quit cooling. Repairman came today and found control board was bad (not cheap and not covered by warranty). Repairman cannot find replacement board in town, so 2 to 3 days wait. My previous GE went for five plus years and compressor went out. It is difficult to find quality products anymore, particularly when one manufacturer may make numerous brands.

Not real happy as the shelf's are to small and close together. Not enough room in freezer or enough shelfs, could do without ice maker. $1700. iS a lot to not be satisfied, that does include insurance and we are limited for space. Live and learn. Refrigerator seems to run a lot.

Bought this after checking several different makers. This is the very best, really beautiful, refrigerator I've ever owned. It has ice (cubed or crushed) with cold water in the door. Even my 5 year old grandson loved the fact that he could refill his water without help. Hubby likes crushed ice and I want cubes. The inside of fridge is huge. Three shelves and three drawers hold everything, and still room for leftovers. Best purchase ever!!!

The specs read .5 cubic feet smaller then my old fridge, yet I have twice as much room. Not sure how they do it, maybe just better use of the space, but I love it. The lighting inside is just right and doesn't blind me like the old one. Also I know it's silly, but I love the shape and size of the pyramid style ice cubes it makes. I could keep going, but it's probably easier for me to tell you this. I love it and would not change 1 thing about it period!

This wasn't even a factor in my decision to buy, but before I purchased this refrigerator, I had a hard time getting my grandkids to drink water. Now, they love to get a cup, put it under the ice and water dispensers, push the button and drink cold filtered water to MY heart's content! I'm amazed! I can lock it, but I'd rather see them drink up, and any little spills they make are easy to wipe up. I love everything else about this refrigerator, but getting the kids to drink water turns out to be the best part!P.S. My 20-year-old refrigerator still works, and it's a Whirlpool! We put it in the man-cave.

Much about this refrigerator is great but the location of the on/off switch for the ice machine is very strange. When I go on vacations, I would always want the ice maker to be switched off. Ice that sits too long without being used freezes into big clods of ice that are difficult for the dispenser to break apart and dispense. Also the temp control mechanism doesn't keep the temp at the set level. It doesn't vary much but it is always several degrees colder than what is set therefore I have to adjust it up in order for items to not freeze in the frig section.

I've had my new Whirlpool refrigerator about a month, and I love it. It has plenty of room, and when the ice has frozen and falls into the bin, it doesn't make a very loud noise because the cubes are rounded. I'm very satisfied with it.

I purchased this to replace a 14-year-old Whirlpool refrigerator that is now in my garage. I love the way this refrigerator looks but I love the ice storage in the door instead of the freezer. Very attractive in my kitchen and love the led lighting and the water filter in the refrigerator section, not behind the grill at the bottom.

We previously had a Whirlpool refrigerator that gad latest a long time, so bought another. Has enough room and is arranged nicely with the drawers, access to the filters and really like how the ice bin opens and comes out. My only disappointment is there was not enough shelves on the freezer side. There were notches for shelves but no shelves included, so had to order a couple from Whirlpool. The refrigerator runs quietly. I am happy with my purchase and it is working well.

Since buying our condo two years ago, we've had three refrigerator/ freezers. The ice maker on the first two were miserable.We must have had a dozen service calls on each because ice was breaking up and coming out in shards or so fast they flew past the glass. We had 3-4 new ice makers installed, several relays for each, so we told the dealer we were not satisfied and wanted another brand.I was skeptical about this machine's ice maker because the cubes are much smaller than on our other appliances and the ice collection bin looked smaller. After a week, it seemed to make ice in the quantity we wanted and we're very pleased with it.It holds as much as the other two but the lighting inside is much brighter.Because we want it to last, we are going to purchase a continuing warranty on the unit.

I bought this refridgerator shortly after the christmas holiday in 2016, as my 'old' one died christmas day. Being right after the holiday, price was a consideration...it has the key features we were looking for: through the door ice and water, and of course stainless exterior.PRO: Price paid, and retailers extended warranty. CON: while the exterior is the same dimension as the old one, the interior is significantly smaller - likely because the walls of the new one are thicker (better insulation/energy efficient?)...but this equals less space the both compartments...for example, a large take-out pizza box will not lie flat on the bottom shelf, as the compartment is too narrow.

Appliance looks great. I purchased all matching Whirlpool appliances. Issues for me: the shelves are not adjustable, i mean what is up with that? I had to purchase a different tea pitcher because my old one was too tall to fit on any shelf. The light on top is positioned directly in front overhead of top shelf and hinders the height of what and where you can place items on the top shelf. Very odd. I've had to adjust refrigerator temperature from the recommended setting of 37 degrees because food was freezing in the refrigerator. Also , we are already getting the "order filter" light after less than 5 months of use. Replacement filters are $40 each plus tax. Ouch.
