We bought this about two months ago when our deep freeze of over 25 years stopped working. We love the size of the storage baskets. It is noisier than our old one, but otherwise it seems to be great. Let's hope that it will be as long lived as the other one.

I bought this from a local dept store because of the Whirlpool brand. I've had other appliances from whirlpool and this one is no different. It has the extra capacity I needed and all the features for a larger chest freezer that you can find. Would recommend to anybody! Very happy with the quality.

My husband and I purchased this bedding more room for pork and beef that we raise. It fits a whole hog and half a cow in the bottom portion and I have sweet corn and frozen treats in the top removable compartments. Very quiet and true to size. Fits perfectly in the corner or our garage with room for other things. 100% recommend! All my appliances are whirlpool brand.

This was an emergency buy, old Montgomery Wards freezer bit the dust after 35 plus years and food was thawing out. Local dealer had this freezer is stock and delivered it 30 mins after purchase. Plugged it in loaded it up and a few hours later everything was back to normal. Hope to get 35 years out of this one.

Whirlpool - 22 cu. ft. Chest Freezer with Extra-Large Capacity is a must have, well built and assembled in the U.S. I like that the bottom of this freezer has sheet metal with foam insulation for added freezing capability, which in turn reduces the cost of the freezer to operate.

Tomatoes are are getting ripe. We always cook them down and can on our Heartland kitchen wood stove during the Winter to save energy and time. The old 15' freezer was never big enough to handle the volume. Now we can do all the tomatoes we need.

I bought a 22 cu. ft. Whirlpool Chest Freezer in June and I was pleased with my purchase until I discovered that the middle front side gets hot enough to burn your skin when touched.. I called Lowes 30 days later and they told me my garage was the problem. Whirlpool does not indicate in any of their descriptions of items that this freezer can not be put in a garage. I called Lowes several times and requested another freezer that indicated "garage ready", but Mr. Strange, who is manager of Lowe's appliances, told me there was nothing wrong with my freezer and it was not Lowes' responsibility. I had an upright freezer in my closed in, double garage for fifteen years that never got hot and was still running when I purchased this larger chest freezer, but I made the mistake of selling it. If this freezer doesn't burn out in less than a year, I will be surprised. Please change your ads to let customers know that Whirlpool freezers run very hot if put into the garage. I have no other place to put the freezer except the back porch; however, I believe this freezer would run hot regardless of where I put it..

I bought this 22 foot manual chest freezer to replace the Whirlpool 23 foot manual chest freezer I bought 29 years ago and it served us well! I like the new style storage baskets, they are a big improvement over the old wire ones. These slide very well and the lid seals better.
I look forward to another 25 plus years from this freezer!

I bought this approximately 1 month ago, and since the 1st time we opened it, after it was well frozen, there is a place on the top back, inside, that continually frosts up very bad. I have knocked it off and it comes back, almost like it is not sealing good there or something. Not happy with that, I am afraid it will cause problems.

Bought a little over a month ago to replace a 26 year old freezer that died. The only thing I would change is the plastic trays/bins. I was used to metal and those trays/bins never had any issues in 26 years. My experience with plastic is, with age, they will start to crack/break. Also, the old freezer had the compressor shielded by a vented screw on door/plate. This one is open and the copper sticks out somewhat from the back of the unit. Only time will tell.

I was really surprised the first time I placed my hand on top of this new freezer. It was cold. This tells me it's poorly insulated. Additionally, this replaces a freezer that was over 46 years old and spent it's entire life in a garage that was not heated or cooled. I was warned that could be a problem for this new one. I guess some things are made better than they used to be, and some things are not.

After 35-40 years my Sears/Whirlpool gave out. This one is same external size but not quite as wide internally because of more insulation. It cooled to 0 degrees in less than 6 hours. So far so good.

This unit replaced an 18yr old Kenmore. The Kenmore was a 4-5 dead body capacity. This on is a solid 4. So far, although a cu ft smaller on the inside, it is keeping everything cold that needs to be in there. Benefits: it is smaller on the outside and required less space between itself and walls than other units I looked at. So it fits nicely.

I love the larger size for a family and country folk who put up alot of our own food from garden, hunting, and fishing . This one seems to have a thicker lid than my last one, which is good since it rusted out after about 10 uears.
